Polina Raiko Blanket

A blanket created in collaboration with Woolkraft as a meaningful gift for families of Ukrainian employees serving in the armed forces. The piece was inspired by the story of Polina Raiko, a Ukrainian naïve artist who began painting at the age of 69 and transformed her home into a living canvas, using a bird element from her painting as the blanket's main graphic motif. Her house, once recognized as a cultural monument of national significance, was severely damaged in June 2023 by flooding caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam during Russia's invasion of Ukraine. My role was to develop the concept for the blanket and design the graphic that was later translated into the knitted piece, as well as the packaging. Deliverables included: blanket and packaging.
